Last week I posted this reel about 5 things that I totally worth the money as a small business owner coming from your bestie marketing girl.

5 Things that are worth the Money for Small Business Owners

These are my honest to goodness things I would definitely invest in as a brand new small business owner.

1. A Professional Website
Your website is someone’s first look into you and your brand. If it looks janky then people will automatically not trust you

2. A Professional Email Domain
An email with @yourdomain.com makes you appear polish and professional when communicating with your clients and its like $7/month from Google

3. Professional photography/videography
If you’re product based, get professional images and video of your products done. If you’re service based, get professional photos and videos of you, you working, your team. Have them do broll of the photo shoot itself and then actual lifestyle content

4. Social Media Video Editor
Honestly, what a game changer. Many of us are ok shooting forward facing content but when it comes to the editing we stall because its SO MUCH WORK. Have a young kid who was basically born with a phone in their hand do it for you- it relieves so much stress and they are better at it.

5. Outsource whatever you keep putting off
Whether its bookkeeping, social media strategy, your email marketing, basic admin stuff. This is what is keeping you in one spot and your business cannot grow if you don’t let go of some things.

And a bonus one:

Don’t get a marketing team that just does one thing for you. Have someone be connected to all areas of your business so that your marketing is cohesive and well-rounded. It doesn’t mean they have to execute it all but someone doing your social media strategy should be well-intuned to your email marketing strategy and your grassroots marketing strategies.

Oh hey, that’s us!

And a little something for the plot…Here are some trending social content for this week that you can try:

Google Animation:

Have a mockup of a Google search bar with what you do typed into the search bar, and then your own graphics, photos, products underneath as the search results.

Money can’t buy happiness but:

For this trend, you will use broll to show your work or you working (the creative process).

For example:

– Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy a Family Assistant.

– Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy an 100% compostable toy.

– Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy me this ghost sweatshirt for Halloween.

– Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy me the mental relief from doing social media.

What you want, baby I got it:

For this reel, you will ease Aretha Franklin’s “R-E-S-P-E-C-T” where the audio starts with “What you want, you know I got it.” You can lip sync showcasing different products or services, or do broll of content for your niche.
