Our August trend report is here and while we are saying goodbye to summer, we are also saying hello to one of the busiest seasons for most business owners. This month we all all about back-to-school “lessons,” fading summer into fall, and continuing our prep for holiday campaigns.
When most small business owners think of marketing they think of “just social media.” But marketing is so much more than that and honestly, social media might not be the absolute best place to invest in your marketing. So check out below because not only do we have social content ideas but we also have email ideas as well as what you should be starting to plan for in terms of campaigns.

For personal brands, we are really doubling down on UGC content, brand deals, affiliate marketing, and anything specific that you want to share with your audience during the holiday season. If you plan to do a gift guide, you should be taking the list of desired brands that you want to work with to start striking those deals. This will give you time to negotiate the contract, create the content, get approval, and design the guide and social structure.

| For service-based brands, you should have a loose plan of what you want to offer during the holiday season. You should define your overall strategy behind this: are you emailing current and past clients? What does the social content look like? Do you need to update parts of your website or create landing pages for this specific offer? How is the tech stack behind this going to work with your CRM or your invoicing and onboarding process? By the end of August you should have a defined campaign launch plan with email ideas, social media content ideas, and what needs to be done on the back end like landing pages and tech stack updates. |

Product-based businesses should already be spinning the wheels for holidays by the time August rolls around. By the end of this month you should have a defined strategy to include social media content, tech stack changes (discount codes, changes to website, affiliate links, etc), product bundles, and emails you are sending to targeted customers. Repeat customers and new customers may need different email sequences and incentives.
If you are going to be working with any publications or influencers, start reaching out in August so you have time to work through contract negotiations, sending product, approving deliverables, and UGC content for your own socials and emails.

And of course, our team at Aura Palms Marketing is here to help with it all. From social strategy and content creation to working on your CRM or backend processes, we can help with the pretty stuff that people see and the backend stuff that they don’t see. We kind of do it all, and that’s what makes us special.
