I just had a call with a mentee this morning, and what we talked about is something I talk to most of my clients about on a regular basis: creating a cohesive marketing strategy by repurposing content on multiple marketing platforms. When most entrepreneurs start their businesses, they aren’t really thinking about the marketing piece. Sure, they know they need a website and social media, and maybe they have considered email marketing.

But oftentimes, business owners are thinking about all of these things as separate entities rather than using them cohesively as a larger part of their marketing strategy. When I was speaking to Lauren (yes, her name is Lauren, too!) we were discussing how she was feeling completely overwhelmed by the marketing piece of her business. That this was just another “thing” she had to do when all she really wants to do is focus on actually doing the work inside the business- not talking about it.

As Lauren talked about some things going on within her industry and some key issues that were making rounds among her clients and colleagues, we started to discuss how these things can become a value proposition for her own business (i.e., how her expertise lends her to certain viewpoints or how she runs her business). But then we started to talk about how she can create forward-facing content for this to showcase her value proposition to her clients. Rightfully so, Lauren felt like doing social content was just not where she wanted to be and it felt really overwhelming for her to sit down and create that with, what she felt like, was no plan or direction. I asked her what was one space she felt like she could really give her value and input, and she said in writing.

The Simple Strategy That Changed Everything

Instead of trying to be everywhere, we built a system:

1. Start with One Core Platform (Her Strength)

Lauren will focus on blog content.

Why?

  • It allows depth and clarity
  • It positions her as an authority
  • It builds long-term SEO and credibility

2. Anchor Everything to Her Website

Her website becomes the hub:

  • Establishes legitimacy
  • Houses her thought leadership
  • Drives discovery calls

3. Repurpose, Don’t Recreate

This is where most people get it wrong.

Instead of creating new content for every platform, she’ll:

  • Write one high-value blog
  • Use AI (like ChatGPT) to adapt it into:
    • LinkedIn posts → driving traffic to the blog
    • Instagram captions → simplifying and visualizing the message

One idea. Multiple touchpoints.

4. Create a Cohesive Ecosystem

Now everything works together:

  • Blog → builds authority
  • LinkedIn → builds visibility
  • Instagram → builds connection
  • Website → drives conversions

This Is Exactly What We Do at the Fractional CMO Level

What we built for Lauren is a simplified version of what we do for larger brands and organizations.

At a higher level, this looks like:

  • Multi-platform content ecosystems
  • Messaging frameworks that stay consistent across channels
  • Strategic repurposing at scale
  • Clear alignment between marketing and business goals

We would love to talk to you about your cohesive marketing strategy and how we can help you take your value proposition, your organic cadence for content creation, and relieve the overwhelm of marketing your business so you can focus on true growth.
